SUNDAY MORNING RACE SERIESFrom SSNS:Sign up now for Sunday Morning Races at the Halifax Oval this Sunday February 12th 0800 until 1030.The DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11th at 1PM. This racing is free for all participants and is a good opportunity for skaters and officials to experience long track speed skating racing. This weekend with these races we celebrate our Nova Scotia Canada Winter Games team and help them in the last stages of their training. The ice is booked from 0800 until 1030 on February 12th. The first race will start as soon as the track markers are laid down, approximately 8:15am. The amount of ice time is limited so the starter will not wait on skaters that do not report to the start on time. If you are able to help out as an official please also sign up on the same form. List your name separately from skaters, select from the volunteer tab your preferred role in the drop down menu. If your position requires race sheets please print them at home and bring them with you with your own clip board and writing implement. Coaches who wish to receive schedules, pairing and results should also sign-up with their name and select coaching from the drop down menu under volunteers.

SPEEDY KIDS ANNUAL OVAL MELTDOWN
SAVE THE DATE: Saturday 4 March and Sunday 5 March 2023
The SK Oval Meltdown is an all-ages and all abilities long track event.
For reference: The SK Oval Meltdown weekend is delayed this season as the Oval hosts the Canada Winter Games. In the past, there has been the option to register for either the full event, or single days. Detailed information will be shared as soon as available.

The Special Olympics Winter Games is happening this weekend in Greenwood!
The Special Olympics Nova Scotia Provincial Skating Championships are on Saturday, February 11th, 1:45-4:45, at the Credit Union Centre in Kingston.
The competition includes skaters from the Valley, Dartmouth Crossing, Cape Breton and PEI and is being supported by volunteers from the Valley Speed Skating Club and Dartmouth Crossing.
