Hello HRSSC Families,
Hope this finds everyone in good spirits as the busy days of December get rolling and lots of our skaters have been singing and dancing away at holiday concerts.
First off, a huge Thank You to all of our volunteers and officials- club members, alumni, family, and friends who joined us at the CITADEL CUP and for helping to make the weekend a great success. We were excited to see lots of members try out new officiating and volunteer positions. Every little bit helps and all together we were able to host a successful meet and welcome skaters and families from across the region.
Congratulations to all of our skaters – lots of personal bests; ribbons and medals; first tries at new distances; and first tries at a competition! Thank You for being brave athletes, working hard to bring all your skills and training together on race day, and for being great hosts.
Thank You to our coaches, CJ and Jessica for the support and keeping our big group of skaters ready to go all weekend.

SAINT JOHN AMATEUR SPEED SKATING CLUB – CHARLES GORMAN SPEED SKATING MEET SJASSC Announcement and Registration
The Saint John Amateur Speed Skating Club is excited to announce the return of the Charles Gorman Memorial Speed Skating Meet on January 14-15, 2023. We look forward to welcoming skaters and families to the TD Station (formerly Harbour Station) in Saint John, NB.

REGISTRATION CLOSES ON WEDNESDAY JANUARY 4TH at 8pm
Meet Format We will be following the abilities meet format offering the 85m, 100m and 111m tracks.
This meet is a SSC sanctioned event that will be conducted according to the rules and regulations as defined by SSC with respect to the skating track, officiating, safety features, and other aspects involved in the event. Skaters will be seeded based on their most recent times from the current season. If this is the first competition of the season, or a new entry, times from the 2021-22 skating season or a coach’s time from practice may be considered. These must be sent by coaches to the Meet Recorder, Cathy Dochstader at catdochstader@gmail.com by January 4th.Hotel InformationThe host hotel is the Hilton at 1 Market Square, Saint John NB, E2L 4Z6.They are offering a special rate of $139 per night for a standard room with 2 queen beds.
