Summer Training

HRSSC Dryland Practices will beginning soon. Jonathan will be using the email address for all dryland related communications, including dates, times, locations and cancellations. If you are interested in attending dryland or having you children attend, please read the following:
Dryland Practice will take place throughout the summer at the Glenbourne Sports Field on Parkland Drive, Halifax. Dryland will include a lot of running, and participants will be expected to be able to complete a MINIMUM of 1 km of running at without supervision. The site Jonathan has chosen has approximately 700m of trail that has good visibility but he will most likely be staying stationary to allow him to watch as much as possible. That means that children may be up to 700m away at any one time. Jonathan will be encouraging the athletes to run as a group or with a partner, however, abilities vary and this may not be possible. Jonathan’s first and utmost concern is the safety of all the athletes, however, dryland is not an enclosed facility like the oval or rink and cannot guarantee 100% supervision.
Jonathan would like to have all members participate, however, in an environment that practice will be held, cannot be everywhere at once. Therefore, participation is preferred for athletes 12 years of age or older AND can handle the 1km minimum of running. If younger athletes are interested, Jonathan would like volunteers and supervision to attend as well to ensure no athletes are left in vulnerable or dangerous situations. Volunteers are always welcome to attend and assist in any circumstance.
If you are interested in attending dryland practices and/or recieveing notifications, please email to assist in building an email distribution list.
