September 30th Update

Hi folks,
Welcome to another week of Speed Skating!
The Citadel Cup will be our clubs biggest meet and will be held at St Margaret’s Center on Oct 26 and 27th. We will have more details to follow later this week

The Annapolis Valley Speed Skating Club Fall Mini-Meet will take place on Saturday, October 19, at the Credit Union Centre. The entry fee is $20 per skater. It’s a great chance for new skaters to get some experience racing and for experienced skaters to get a few races in before the Citadel Cup.I will register skaters for the event so please inform me by October 10th with the title of Valley meet in the heading if you will be attending. I’ve attached their flyer link below.

Details about our practices can be found below.  See you at the rink!
Please keep in mind to come a little early to put on gear so skaters are ready to get on the ice at the start of their Group Ice Time.   Safety gear includes: helmet, safety glasses, neck guard, knee pads, shin guards, and sturdy or cut proof gloves (not fleece or fabric).
We will have volunteers available to assist with registration, equipment, group assignments, and any other questions.   We will also be hosting Parent Information sessions during skate times in the lobby over the next couple of weeks to share additional details about HRSSC, the short track and long track seasons, skater equipment, upcoming competitions, and volunteer opportunities.
