And from the Chief Referee:

Hello Skaters and Coaches,
Please find the attached files regarding this weekend’s racing.  The files include:

  • Schedule of events
  • Updated Participants List
  • Weather Forecast
  • Track Diagrams

This year we are using a tent shelter on the back straight side of the oval for skaters and coaches.  We do not have access to the skate rental area in the oval building like we have in past years. The clerk of the course will be issuing timing chips and armbands on the back straight near the tent.
Long track speed skating does not have a bullpen, skaters are expected to be at the start area when their race is called.  Skaters that are not ready to race with all the required skating equipment, including timing chips and armbands will be listed as did not start.
The weather forecast for Saturday predicts strong wind gusts which will make the temperature feel much cooler, please dress accordingly.
Anyone wanting some evening exercise tomorrow evening around 9pm we will be unloading protective mats from containers and placing them on the oval curves.  After racing on Sunday we will be returning the mats to the containers.
On Sunday, the last event on the schedule are the team pursuits. I will discuss with coaches at the coaches meeting which athletes wish to participate, length of race and which coaches wish to coach a team.  Please remember that helmets are required for team pursuit racing.  For a reminder of required protective equipment for skaters in the team pursuit, ISU mass-start and general mass-start racing refer to ISU Communication 2477 and D3-200, D3-300 AND D3-301.   See attachments below.
Please take care driving tomorrow. I hope to see you all on Saturday.

Sincerely,
Brent ThompsonChief Referee
